What is Night to Unite (National Night Out)?

night to unite

Night to Unite is observed annually on the first Tuesday of August.  It is a statewide event that builds and fosters community bonds between citizens, businesses, and public safety organizations, such as the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office.

Night to Unite Date: Tuesday, August 4, 2020

Night to Unite goals are to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness.
  • Generate support and participation in crime prevention and community policing programs.
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirits and public safety-community partnerships.
  • Let criminals know that you are committed to keeping your neighborhood safe.

Each year the city and Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office encourages the community to observe Night to Unite by hosting block parties and neighborhood get together.  A neighborhood block party is an opportunity for neighbors to get together, meet each other, have fun, and maybe work together on a common activity.

How to Register:

  1. Complete the city's Block Party super form to request City Council and commissioners, barricades, Fire Department, and play kits
  2. To request the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office, please visit their website and complete the form
