2025 Sustainability Fair Recap
In 2025 we collected:
- 1140 pounds of textiles to be donated or recycled into stuffing
- 1704 pounds of various electronics
- 2120 pounds of paper were shredded onsite
Event Details:
Falcon Heights is partnering with the City of Lauderdale for this event!
The City is offering electronics recycling through Repowered Recycling, textile collection through Retold Recycling, and paper shredding services through Shred Right. These services will be in our parking lot. See the attached map for details. Electronics, textiles, and paper shredding are available to Falcon Heights and Lauderdale residents only.
Residents are allowed to bring 1-5 boxes of paper for the Shredding Event.
Textile Recycling Details:
-
We accept almost all textiles, including clothing, household items, and even fabric scraps.
-
Approximately 39% of the materials we collect are resold to thrift stores. The remaining materials are downcycled into a pulp called "shoddy," which is used in various products like punching bag filling, insulation, car seat stuffing, and cleaning rags.
-
All of Retold Recycling's recycling processes take place within the United States.
-
Retold has partnered with organizations across the U.S. to provide bulk textile recycling solutions, including several events in Minnesota.
-
To date, we have successfully diverted 200 tons of textiles from landfills.
